How a Global Cable Network Made Title Metadata Management Actually Work
A major global cable network runs Flo Platform on AWS to extend their title metadata system and automate flow to downstream business systems. Over 10 million workflow runs since the May 2025 go-live, with 99.5% success and 31 production workflows as of the end of 2025.

The challenge
A title metadata system of record only helps if data gets to the systems that need it: delivery, distribution, sales, programming. Out of the box, that usually means heavy customization, one-off integrations, or manual handoffs. Many downstream systems were simply not fed and stayed stale. Title changes could take days to show up. Without a way to transform and send data automatically, the single source of truth never fully delivers.
The solution
Flo Platform extends the capabilities of the network's title metadata system of record (Fabric) and automatically transforms and sends data from Fabric to downstream business systems that support delivery and distribution. Workflows govern the flow of these updates to each downstream system and run at high volume, always on. The network gets the heavy customization and automated data flow that make their metadata investment pay off.
Built on AWS
This solution runs on AWS. Flo Platform uses:
Amazon ECS and Elastic Load Balancing for the workflow engine and traffic entry
Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL for durable workflow state
Amazon ElastiCache (Valkey) for the work queue
AWS Lambda and Amazon SQS for event intake and buffering
Amazon S3 for application and workflow artifacts
Amazon CloudWatch for monitoring and alerting
Flomenco is what enables us to make the title metadata management solution work. Without the heavy customization that's easy in Flomenco and the automated flow of data between our media systems, we wouldn't be able to operate.

The results
Title changes reach downstream systems in minutes, not days. Before Flomenco, updates were re-keyed by hand, moved by brittle scripts, or never reached some systems at all. Now each change flows automatically the moment it is made.
99.5% of runs complete with no manual work. Across more than 10 million workflow runs since the May 2025 go-live, with 31 production workflows live by the end of 2025.
What the automation handles: title record updates (68%), episode updates (12%), short-form updates (5%), and other event types.
Use case: Metadata extension + downstream automation • Industry: Cable / global network • Systems: Fabric (title metadata system of record), plus downstream delivery and distribution systems
