Search assets
Find media using natural-language search across video, audio, images, and text metadata.
How to use
1. Enter a search query
Use any of these entry points:

Example queries: "sunset over water", "interview about product launch", "logo on white background".
2. Choose search scope
On the search page, set scope to:
- All: assets and metadata entities
- Assets: media files only
- Metadata: entity records only
Your scope preference is saved for future searches.
3. Review results
Results are ranked by relevance. Video hits may include segment-level matches when embeddings are available. Default sort on the search page is relevance.
Use the shared control bar to change sort order when needed.
4. Open a result
Click a result to open Asset detail. Search context (result position, clip start for video segments) is preserved in the URL so you can move prev/next within the result set.
Tips
- Use descriptive phrases rather than single keywords for semantic search.
- Switch scope to Metadata when looking for structured entity records.
Troubleshooting
- No results. Confirm assets have finished processing; try broader terms or check a different scope.
- Unexpected ranking. Semantic search interprets meaning; try rephrasing or use filename/type filters on the Assets page.
- Slow results. Large libraries may take a moment; wait for the query to complete.
